Fur Couture Rug Collection by Emily Barbara

An exquisite balance of artistry and restraint, this Huacaya alpaca wool rug is crafted in natural white, enlivened by an abstract pattern that drifts through nuanced honey and light caramel tones. The design feels organic and painterly, allowing warmth and movement to emerge softly against the purity of the base—an elevated statement that reads as both contemporary and timeless.

Hand-crafted from ethically sourced Huacaya alpaca, prized for its silk-like handle and luminous sheen, the floor rug offers an unparalleled sense of softness and texture. The shorter wool pile creates a plush, airy surface that is indulgent underfoot while remaining visually refined. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted in Peru by skilled artisans, honoring generations of textile expertise and a deep respect for sustainable practices.

Every alpaca rug is custom made to order, with complete flexibility in size, color, and pattern, allowing home owners, designers, and architects to tailor the piece precisely to their vision. Whether anchoring a residential interior or elevating a curated commercial space, this rug embodies quiet luxury—where ethical craftsmanship, material excellence, and bespoke design converge

Alpaca Wool Rug Care:

The rug may be brushed with a short tooth, pet or hair brush

For spills or spot cleaning, soak up stains with a dry cloth. Gently wash the wool within the fingers using mild and gentle detergent. Do not wet the under leather / skin. Soak up the moisture again with a dry cloth and allow to dry naturally.

Do not wash or soak your rug. Do not apply heat or tumble dry.

Protect from damp areas, heavy moisture and moths

Professional fur cleaning only

Keep away from direct UV exposure to prevent sun damage.

Though we try very hard to remove all loose furs, slight fur shedding may still occur due to the loose fur fibers trapped in the fur blanket. Gently shake, brush, or vacuum your wool rug to remove any loose fibers.

Do not pull at the fur, ensure you always grab the lining and fur together.

We can’t thank enough Emily, for creating a beautiful custom rug to our exact specifications for baby’s nursery. Emily was very informative and showed us many different sheepskin samples. The rug was made within two weeks as promised. Emily has the most genuine aura, we definitely will be back.

I feel so fortunate to have found ELuxury Home in my search for a new floor rug. Emily’s craftsmanship and attention to detail are more than I could ever have hoped for, and I am absolutely delighted with the stunning, bespoke rug she has created for me. Even more important for me however, was the generous, honest and considerate service, right from the very first email. Emily spent a lot of time and took a lot of trouble to understand what I was after, and to ensure that I would be happy with the final product. There was more than one occasion during our collaboration where Emily could have created and sold me a rug which I would likely have been quite satisfied with, and which would have saved her a great deal of time and trouble. Instead she asked the questions I didn’t think to ask, and took the time and trouble to understand what I wanted, even when I couldn’t articulate it well myself. Finding any person in any type of business with that level of integrity, honesty, consideration, care and commitment to their product and their customer is so unusual these days. It was an absolute pleasure doing business with Emily, and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

I would highly recommend this business. I was unsure about spending a lot of money on an online transaction so I phoned Emily with a range of questions. Emily was so helpful, informative and so genuine, that I knew I had found the right supplier for my merino rug. Emily was so easy to talk with and everything went so smoothly. I received my rug within 2 weeks as Emily promised and I absolutely love it.
